Current members are strongly encouraged to get involved with the Historical Society and the Museum–there’s something for everyone’s interest!
Your membership and support are very much appreciated and we hope you can take pride in the contribution you are making to the preservation of Kent’s heritage!
Here are a few ways you can participate:
All members, as well as the public, are invited to attend the monthly GKHS Board meetings, the first Thursday of every month at 7 p.m. Important information about the Museum and the Society is discussed at meetings.
The Museum always welcomes volunteers, both members and the public. There are many volunteer opportunities–see the Volunteer page for information.
The Museum invites members to attend our Adult Education Series, posted on our events page.
All members are invited to contribute to our quarterly newsletter, the Recorder. Call or email the office with your idea.
- The Museum makes a great venue for your private or company event, including birthday parties, teas, weddings and receptions, even company holiday parties, and members get a great discount on the deposit. Download the GKHS Facility Use Policy page and contact the Museum office for more information.
- If you would like to organize and/or host a GKHS-sponsored, non-program event or fundraiser, please contact the Museum office and fill out an Event Request Form. This form helps the Museum staff efficiently facilitate and accommodate your event. (Examples of past events that fell into this category were the Memorial Day ceremony and the Ed Crawford Speaker event.)
