We are looking for a part-time Administrative Assistant. Must be a self-starter, good at multi-tasking and responsible.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
-Assist Executive Director in managing the overall operation of Employer’s facilities and equipment.
-Answer the museum phone, answer email, open mail.
-Assist Treasurer and Accountant with day to day financial transactions and recording them.
-Record membership payments and donations and send receipts.
-Help Museum Director manage volunteer activities as directed.
-Maintain files of various GKHS minutes, including Board, Executive Board and special committees of GKHS.
-Maintain a calendar of all museum uses and update as necessary.
-Develop a list of office supplies and equipment needed and purchase as necessary.
-Maintain communications for GKHS, including sending meeting notices, reminders, updating web site postings and other electronic notifications. Maintain museum Facebook and website pages.
-Maintain a log of visitors and volunteers working in the museum. Post such information monthly as required by GKHS policy.
-Compile monthly statistics of contacts and inquires of museum .
-Help produce materials to support GKHS activities.
-Be first contact for visitors unless docents on duty, and create a friendly and engaging social environment for visitors.
-Be responsible for electronic backup of museum files and off ground storage of such.
-Help in production of quarterly reports to City Parks Dept. and quarterly GKHS newsletters.
-Coordinate cleanup of museum for public visitors.
-Help input information and images into Past Perfect, our museum archival software.
-Assist Historical Society board members as needed.
-Appropriately close and secure facilities upon leaving.
Located in Kent.
Must be available Wednesday- Saturday, 12pm-4pm with occasional additional hours as needed, including a once-a-month evening board meeting.
Compensation is DOE.
